I read an article titled, "Broken Heart Syndrome".
Being skeptical, I asked my Dr. about this. He said, "it is true."
The facts are, that some have died with a broken heart.
Matters of the heart, matter!
This definitely, lets me know that the heart is very strong, and at the same time, it is delicate and very fragile.
All of us at one time or another, have experienced people playing with and upon our heart.
Some people will continually play with it. As long as we allow them to do so.
They start out with good intentions. Making promises to you, and reassure you, they have no intention of hurting you, or ever leaving you broken.
But...then things change, and...
The lyrics of their song is not in sync with the music they begin to play.
It is no longer in harmony.
It is out of tune.
There is no rhythm and it skips a beat.
They begin striking chords out of harmony, pulling and plucking at these strings until, their song is no longer soothing to your soul. Actually, there is no song left to sing. We are left with a broken heart. Completely broken.
Think about it...this organ, the heart it has strings, "heartstrings."
Don't allow your heart to get played too much, guard it!
Because it can be broken.
We have been told what does not kill you, will make you stronger!
So how can you mend a broken heart? You can't! Only Jesus can do that!
There is hope. Pick up all of the fragments no matter how shredded they may be, and carry them to Jesus, HE has "healing hands."
Keep thy heart with ALL DILIGENCE; for out of it ARE THE ISSUES OF LIFE.
Who is playing on our "heartstrings" today?
