Symbol Of Prestige ~ DeVonne Reed

Studying this morning. This thought became a question in my spirit and in my mind.

 "What is it that people want more than anything?"

The answer I heard was this:

"They desire to be in some type of leadership position and or have their name associated with prestigious titles."

* Prestigious:
1. esteemed, honored, having an illustrious reputation; respected.

2. Exerting influence by reason of high status or prestige.

* Prestige:
1. a high standing achieved through success or influence or wealth etc.

I only know of ONE, that deserves this kind of prestige, and this type of our highest recognition!
HIS name is JESUS!
HIS SYMBOL WAS, The CROSS!
The power of the cross was HIS LOVE.
It was not the nails that held HIM there, it was HIS LOVE!

JESUS was a leader...yet, HE WAS NOT esteemed, honored, nor respected.
Especially, in HIS hometown. HE could not do many miracles there, because of their unbelief.

However, HE did have a reputation.
He took upon HIMSELF the form of a servant, in the likeness of men: fashioned as a man, HE humbled HIMSELF, HE was obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Crowds, followed HIM. Multitudes of people; disciples, common folks, sinners, those that were possessed, and the religious crowd. These people, in close proximity with HIM. They saw and heard Him, they heard Salvation speaking, and still reject HIM, even after HE manifested to them who HE WAS.
People labeled HIM. Some labeled HIM a TROUBLEMAKER!
Yes, HE was despised, and rejected, a man of many sorrows.

People heard about HIM, some knew of HIM, some saw HIM, people walked and talked with HIM, some people knew HIM, some people believed Him, and still some rejected HIM.

Isn't it true? We still see these same scenarios and behavior in our world today.

The cross of Calvary, stood high upon Golgotha's Hill.

This was place where JESUS illustrated GODS LOVE! HE achieved and accomplished HIS earthly mission. HE endured, and fulfilled the Fathers WILL. Greater Love hath NO MAN than this!
HE WAS SUCCESSFUL!

Have you accepted this Great LOVE?
IF so...HIS influence is shown to this lost and dying world, through US, the believers...the ones who are living a Christ-like life.

2 Corinthians 4:3 KJV.
3. BUT IF our GOSPEL be hid it is hid to them that are lost

IS HE being represented well?
Can the world see JESUS, the HOPE OF GLORY living inside of us?

2 Corinthians 8:9. KJV.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though HE was rich, yet for your sakes HE became poor, that you through HIS poverty might be RICH.

2 Corinthians 4:5-7. KJV
5. For we preach not OURSELVES, but Christ Jesus the LORD; and ourselves your SERVANTS for Jesus' sake.

6. For GOD, who commanded the LIGHT to shine out of darkness, hath shines in our HEARTS, to give the LIGHT of the knowledge of the GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST.

7. BUT WE HAVE THIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS, THAT THE EXCELLENCY OF THE POWER MAY BE OF GOD AND NOT OF US.

HE gave to us HIS TREASURE, HIS WEALTH. If you belong to HIM, then you are rich!

SHARE THE WEALTH!
SHARE JESUS!

By the world's standards, I am not rich nor am I wealthy.
But I am rich, because I have JESUS! HE IS MY ALL AND ALL. I have HIM, I have everything I NEED!

I will say it like Peter, silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name that is above every name Jesus Christ.

I GIVE YOU JESUS!
