Freedom of Speech ~ DeVonne Reed

You want to talk about  Freedom of Speech?

Let's talk about PRAYER!

Prayer is the speech that brings freedom! ~ DJR

Have you ever wanted to say something so badly, and someone told you could not say it? Doesn't it make us want to say it, all the more?

Yes, it does!

I am reminded of a story in the Bible, the book of Daniel chapter 6.

Daniel In The Den of Lions-

Daniel was obedient to GOD, he was honest and hardworking. The other government officials were jealous of him, but could find nothing to remove him from office. They were so jealous they worked up a scheme to trick King Darius into passing a decree.

The law was: During a 30-day period of time, anyone who prayed to another god or man besides the king would be thrown into the lions den.

Daniel heard the decree but did not change his habit! He continued just as he had done all of his life. Daniel turned his face toward Jerusalem and he prayed to GOD Almighty!

These wicked schemers! They knew Daniel, they knew he prayed three times a day! Can't you just see them following him around, watching his every move? I believe, they were even lurking in the hallways, stalking Daniel! Lying in wait to accuse him, and they did, they caught him, he was praying!

They knew, that King Darius favored Daniel! Remember they were jealous! They also knew that the law was set and that the king would not tolerate disobedience. Nor would he revoke his punishment toward anyone, not even Daniel!

At sun down, Daniel was thrown into the lions' den!

The king could not eat or sleep all night.

I believe, Daniel had the secret to his "freedom of speech" He prayed...even though he was told , not to do it!

Daniel stood up for what he believed in!

Guess what? He still prayed!

LOL! I can just see Daniel, standing there petting and rubbing that fierce lion, like a domesticated house cat! Ha! Perhaps when night fell, and he became sleepy, he used one of those lion's as a pillow, trusting GOD! Knowing in whom he believed. I believe he was resting, maybe he was even peacefully asleep! He knew his GOD WOULD DELIVER HIM!

At dawn the king saw that Daniel was not dead, but rather, Daniel was alive, well and unharmed. The king knew something supernatural had happened, he saw it with his own eyes, that the GOD of Daniel had shut the lion's mouth!

Daniel address the king with these words:

Daniel 6:22 NIV.

"My GOD sent HIS angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in HIS sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king."

Word is...GOD delivered Daniel, that day!

That day, the king sent out a new decree!

LET EVERY MAN, (WOMAN, BOY, AND GIRL) FEAR THE GOD OF DANIEL, WHO'S KINGDOM WON'T PASS AWAY!

Maybe your trial feels life threatening. Remember, prayer is essential. GOD will hear you, GOD will protect and sustain you. He will answer. It is always yes, no, or wait!
Don't stop trusting GOD! Have faith!

Today, if you feel like you are in the midst of the lions' den, then pattern yourself after Daniel, and use your "Freedom of Speech!"
PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
